When husbands and wives adhere to wise financial practices, Great things will happen in their marriages.
Consider the following passages of scripture that will help your marriage grow as you apply this principle in your marriage
Philippians 4:19 – And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 6:31-33 – Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
Proverbs 3:9 – Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;
Proverbs 11:25 – The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered.
A Brief Application
1.The first wise financial practice that you and your spouse should adhere to is acknowledging that your financial gains come from God. It may not appear that way to you, but God is the one who provides you and your spouse with all of the things that you and your spouse need, want, and desire.
2. The next financial practice that you and your spouse should adhere to is to live out your life and marriage in a way that pleases God and brings Him glory and God will personally see to it that your needs, wants, and desires are taken care of.
3. The next financial practice that you and your spouse should adhere to is to honor God with the finances that He provides to you by giving back a portion of it to Him.
4. The last financial practice on this list that you and your spouse should adhere to is to be a generous giver to others.
5. The above four financial practices are only the start of being financially wise. Seek out other resources, whether it be people, financial programs, or books, that will help you and your spouse adhere to other financially wise practices that God has put in place for you and your spouse to put into action together.
